Sarah St. John is an associate at Shulman Bastian Friedman & Bui LLP's Irvine office, where she practices in the areas of bankruptcy, bankruptcy litigation, and restructuring.

Ms. St. John graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in Spanish. Ms. St. John earned her Juris Doctor from University of Idaho College of Law. During law school, she served as Editorial Fellow to the Real Estate Review Journal and practiced with a limited license in the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic. Through her work at the clinic, Ms. St. John advised local startup businesses on issues related to formation contracts and successfully defended a client's trademark application which had previously been denied. Ms. St. John tailored her experiences to focus on multiple areas of business law, in order to better understand all facets of a business organization's needs.

Ms. St. John moved to California and finished her last semester of law school by serving as a full-time extern to the Honorable Catherine Bauer and Honorable Mark Wallace, U.S. Bankruptcy Court judges for the Central District of California. After graduation, Ms. St. John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Scott Clarkson, U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge for the Central District of California in Santa Ana, and then to the Honorable Julia Brand, U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge for the Central District of California in Los Angeles. Through her experience with the courts, Ms. St. John has a unique familiarity with Central District practices and procedures.

As an Idaho native, Ms. St. John enjoys spending time outdoors and especially enjoys skiing, backpacking, hiking, or running the local trails.
