Ryan is a member of the firm's bankruptcy and litigation departments and is a resident of the Irvine office. Mr. O'Dea has a broad litigation-based practice, zealously representing clients in a wide variety of industries and markets. In addition to litigation, Mr. O'Dea represents debtors, trustees and creditors in all facets of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies. Regardless of the legal venue or forum, Mr. O'Dea approaches all matters with pragmatism and creativity in an effort to achieve the best result for his clients.
During Mr. O'Dea's third year of law school, he served two semesters as a judicial extern to the Honorable Erithe Smith (U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California). After graduating from law school, Mr. O'Dea volunteered with the Superior Court of California - Orange County as an intern research attorney and judicial intern to the Honorable Kazuharu Makino and the Honorable Richard Toohey (Superior Court of California - Orange County). After passing the California Bar in 2010, Mr. O'Dea was hired by the Honorable Meredith Jury to serve a judicial clerkship with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California, serving as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Meredith Jury, the Honorable Scott Clarkson, the Honorable Deborah Saltzman, the Honorable Catherine Bauer, and the Honorable Mark Wallace.
Ryan was selected for inclusion in Rising Stars in Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine three years in a row (2018-2020). Mr. O'Dea is also active in the legal community. He has sat on the board of directors for the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum since 2015, served on its executive board for three years, and was named its president for 2019-2020.
